In this hands-on session, we built a compact 3V mini vibration tool designed for DIY tech pleasure making. Participants assembled a mini vibrating disk motor powered by a 2×AA battery holder with switch, using simple wiring (red/black hookup wires) and basic insulation (ideally shrink tubing).
The activity focused on a quick, prototype-friendly workflow; connecting electronics, and securing the components into a small build. We casted & molded participants’ objects with the vibrating motor; it’s a very simple and fun DIY vibrator (for the whole body), and there are many ways to build it, but this is the one we used : )
Participants were invited to bring:
- a small compact object (~2.5 × 2.5 cm, minimal protrusions*), we’ll use it for an optional silicone cast/mold to create your pleasure object.
- Toys (or objects) with big open holes, hook-like shapes, or lots of moving parts usually won’t release cleanly from a mold. For this build, we’ll stick to the basics; shapes that cast well and are easy to pour.
